Grammy and Grandad Come to Play

Grammy and Grandad came to play last week. It was Grandad's 71st birthday and so we had something to celebrate besides their just being with us.

Grammy and Sulwen got in lots of good reading and playing time. Grammy even showed her prowess at getting a few spoonfuls of sweet potatoes into an ever-moving Sulwen.

Grandad played ride-a-horsey with Sulwen and let her chew on his buttons (such a good Grandad!).

The visit was over all too quickly and Grammy and Grandad headed back up to Oregon.

We love it when Grammy and Grandad come to play and it's hard to say goodbye. Sulwen can't wait for her next play-date in Oregon when she visits Grammy and Grandad's Talent home for the very first time in June. Oh the fun that awaits her there!

Grammy got out a few toys for Sulwen to play with

Grammy was good at feeding Sulwen - notice how she expertly tries to keep the hands down

A really fun new book!

A tactile book to touch and touch and touch again - perfect!

A Fourth a Cup of Fun

Anyone with children knows that the best toys are *not* toys.

Oh, the post-bath joy of taking a fourth of a cup used to wet her hair and playing with it!

Is Our Baby a Bruiser?

It's definitely true that Sulwen does not know her own strength. Still, I think it was the combination of a new fascination with sticking her fingers up *our* noses and some sharp edges on those little fingernails that is really the culprit.

Needless to say, all wounds are mended at this point and we're being more vigilant about clipping nails and watching where her fingers wander.

Did I do that? (as Stephen displays her seriously bulging bicep)

Nanny Visits!

Yay! Nanny came to Timber Cove for a visit. It's a long and arduous trek up here and we always appreciate when Nanny (and others!) make the effort.

We had a fun and relaxed visit with Nanny - enjoying the mild spring weather, taking walks, sharing meals and laughs, and catching up on news from her Easter trip to see the Lyerlys.

Sulwen was particularly thrilled to see her Nanny again. She loved the attention, enthusiastically displayed new talents, and immediately investigated and adopted each and every new toy and book that happily came her way.

Nanny's visits always end too soon...but we'll be heading down to Palo Alto before too long for a visit of our own.

We love you Nanny!
